Fed Cup 2018
Prague, Czech Republic
10-11 Nov 2019
Fed Cup is the premier international team competition in women’s tennis, launched in 1963 to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the International Tennis Federation. The Fed Cup is the world’s largest annual women’s international team sports competition in terms of the number of nations that compete.
Czech Republic will host USA in the 2018 Fed Cup. This will be the 13th clash between the two nations – USA dominates the head-to-head 10-2 and their third in a Final, with the Czechs winning the title against USA in Japan in 1985 before USA avenged that defeat in Prague the following year.
Czech Republic progressed to its sixth Final in eight years after defeating Germany 4-1 in the semi-finals in Stuttgart, courtesy of two for Petra Kvitová and one for Karolína Plíšková
USA is through to its 30th Final after defeating France 3-2 in Aix-en-Provence, with Sloane Stephens collecting two points before Madison Keys won the decisive fourth rubber.
